Research Projects at the Phonogrammarchiv of the Austrian Academy of Sciences

The project is based on the recordings already published in the Gesamtausgabe der Historischen Bestände 1899-1950 (Complete edition of historical inventories 1899-1950) (Series 3: Papua New Guinea and 7: Kalahari, http://www.pha.oeaw.ac.at/home_d.htm, http://verlag.oeaw.ac.at/index.phtml?act=kat&knr=145). Under a new approach to preservation and restoration, new wax discs (a tried and tested wax mixture and a proven casting method) are made of some parts of the collection of recordings from the camps in Eger, Reichenberg and Theresienstadt, which facilitate re-recording and have improved results. In an effort at processing inventories at greater levels of depth, Pöch’s audio documents are integrated with his other collections.
